2012 RED Paddle Co. TenSix Air 10' 6'' Inflatable SUP
2012 RED Paddle Co. TenSix Air 10' 6'' Inflatable SUP

Our Price: £659.00

These boards are amazing, you would never know they were inflatable, completely solid and just like a foam SUP in look and feel but much lighter and tougher, then when you are short of space you can simply deflate and roll them up, awesome!

The 10'6'' is a perfect all round size, great for flat water and in the waves.

The Red Air TenSix is the flagship board. Designed to match the requirements of the all round rider. It will float and glide easily on flat water. It's the perfect flat water cruiser. It is also designed to ride smoothly and predictably in surf. While some inflatable boards flex uncontrollably in the surf our super stiff double layer construction holds firm and allows you to pick your line across even the smallest of waves.

Fin placement and rocker lines are the key ingredient that turns our boards from being ordinary into something that you want to ride again and again.

The TenSix comes complete with a carry bag and special Red Paddle Co Ezee pump, which makes inflation to 15-20psi really easy, leaving you more time to paddle.

Red Paddle Co - a board cutaway diagram

1. Robust double layer construction for strength, stiffness and consistent rocker shape
2. EVA deck - non slip without abrasion
3. Special 'Air Block' membrane eliminates leakage - no loss of air pressure
4. 10 stitch per inch internal structure - no shape distortion
5. Quadruple rail construction

Inflatable stand up paddle boards first became a reality around 2006, when the drop stitch construction used in white water rafts was adapted to create a board shaped "raft".

After many prototypes the designs started to became more refined. The mission was to create a board with rocker and proper shape. This was easier said than done. Boards were ending up looking like turkish slippers with radical turned up noses and oddly shaped tails. Some companies stopped development  there and you can still see their boards for sale with triangle shaped  tails and funny noses!

Eventually it became possible to make a board that resembled it's hard board cousins and in fact from a distance you couldn't tell the difference. The rails were nice and round and the rocker lines even and consistent.

You can't just copy the design of a hard board

The hardest thing was trying to find a way to transfer the design of a hard board to an inflatable board. You can't just copy the design of a hard board. The riders weight effects the board in a different way on an inflatable board and the riders changes in position on the board also have a huge bearing on how the boards perform. Our inflatable boards are designed as inflatable boards and we work through many different prototypes before we are happy with the finished product. Flex, fin positioning, nose rocker, width and rail shapes are all unique to inflatable boards and there is no way you can just copy a hard board design or copy a shape from a piece of paper - although many try!

B%%£$  I just drove over my board!

Having a board that can pack up small was one thing. Having a board that was strong enough to drive your car over was a totally different story.

Standard inflatable boards use what is known as Single Layer construction. This is pretty simple to explain - basically the board is made up of one layer, inside of which is the air. It doesn't take an Einstein theory to work out that if this single layer was to rip or become holed then it wouldn't take long for your board to be empty of air!

This obviously would not be a great situation. The easy solution was just to wrap the boards in a second layer. We wanted to go one step further so we started experimenting with a material construction called  "Zero Lose".

Zero lose material is insanley tough and will block any amount of air from escaping. So in everyday use this means you could pump up your board and leave it inflated and not a single drop of air would find it's way out. Zero lose is also super tough which means there is also no chance you will rip your board.

Rail Lock

One of the weakest areas of any board whether it be a hard epoxy board or an inflatable is the rail. This areas gets whacked, beaten and charged at by all manner of things - paddles, beaches, rocks, boats, jetties, etc. Most epoxy boards have some serious scrapping and chipping down their rails.

The rails of all Red Airs use our Rail Lock construction, We interlock multiple layers of cloth to create an almost unbreakable barrier. Using the highest grade glues available the rails are then glued under pressure to assure there is no chance of damage from foreign objects.

Pump it up!

Red Air boards can be inflated to a very high pressure. More pressure means two things

1) A stiffer board

2) A consistent shape

Those two things combined mean that in everyday use a Red Air will match the equivalent sized hard board for everyday paddling.

99% of people want to be able to inflate their board quickly and easily. The only problem was that the standard pumps you could buy for inflating boards just were not up to the job. We broke tens of pumps when we first started working with our boards, not to mention the number of blisters that we developed on our hands!

The truth was that there wasn't a pump available that could put upwards of 15psi into our board in under 5 minutes. We were not happy to sell our boards with pumps that were not up to the job,  so we set about designing and building a purpose built pump.

Now all Red Airs are provided with a pump free of charge and it is not just any old pump. It means you can pump your board to 15-20psi in under 5 minutes. It's so good other brands are using our design now!

The Red Ezeee pump is the best, most reliable pump for SUP boards on the market. Inflate your board to 15-20psi in under 5 minutes and our turbo valve allows quick and easy deflation and pack up.
